Quite an interesting article re Vanadium Redox Batteries (VRB) along with a pleasant to read historical context of vanadium usage.

In essence the author notes that solar power is at its maximal output at the wrong time of day and that VRB's provide a likely solution to off-grid storage. Read article (http://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-27829874)
