Australia the world's largest LNG exporter by 2018

Based on the capacity that is being built, official estimates show that LNG exports are set to rise from around 20 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) currently to around 85 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) by 2018.

Australia is set to overtake Qatar, which currently produces one-third of globally traded LNG, to be the largest exporter of LNG.

My take out from the above is that Australia is locked into providing long term LNG exports via the signed long term contracts in place. And as those contracts are mostly linked to oil prices these projects might not be quite as profitable with the current oil prices... But and it is a large but, what will happen if the oil supply from the middle east is disrupted?
How much will our Australian Eastern Seaboard gas consumers be paying then?

Australia to supply 40% of China and Japan's gas by 2020

Despite the declining gas prices, Frydenberg remained optimistic about the future of Australia's gas industry, saying on Wednesday that by 2020, the country would supply about 40% of China's gas needs, 40% of Japan's gas needs and 25% of Korea's gas needs, while overtaking Qatar as the world's largest LNG exporter.
