Default Excellent report on Landline re UCG and GTL

This is a must read for those interested in UCG and GTL...

It covers a wide range of topics from the environmental effects through to energy independence for Australia.

"MARTIN FERGUSON, FEDERAL RESOURCES & ENERGY MINISTER: You only have to look at the trade balance that actually exists for Australia at this point in time in terms of our requirement to actually import petroleum. Our deficit at the moment stands about $16 billion per year. By 2015-2016, that could blow out to $30 billion a year. Now for those reasons, these ventures are very important in the overall debate about Australia's future from an energy security point of view. So I wish those involved every success, not only on the road trip, but also their ongoing opportunities in Australia to continue to invest in what for us is a fundamental requirement to actually get serious about alternative transport fuels."
