According to a
just published report by Shanghai reporter Patti Waldmeir China?s leading producer of rare earth metals Baotou Rare Earth has been given government approval to build a USD$3bn strategic reserve, to ensure that China has enough of the rare earth elements to supply its own users.
This will inevitably increase concerns that China is moving towards increasing dominance of the REE that are the vitamins required for production of green and high-technology products.
