Analysis why Aus is lagging re Critical Minerals
Summary of: https://theconversation.com/australi...hem-yet-182331
Australia has a wealth of critical minerals, which are essential for the production of clean energy technologies such as electric vehicles and batteries. However, Australia is not currently making the most of this opportunity. Many of these critical minerals are being discarded as waste. The federal government has released a plan to grow the critical minerals sector, but more needs to be done to support small-scale miners and encourage the extraction of critical minerals from tailings. The government should also introduce policies to strengthen domestic processing and refining of critical minerals, and to encourage mining companies to retrofit their facilities to produce critical minerals.

Aus joins catch-up race for critical minerals future
Read the AFR Article: https://www.afr.com/companies/mining...0230706-p5dm7e
Summary of the article "Australia joins catch-up race for critical minerals future" from the Australian Financial Review: Australia is looking to secure its supply of critical minerals, which are essential for the production of green technologies such as electric vehicles and batteries. China is currently the world's dominant supplier of critical minerals, but Australia has abundant reserves of its own. The Australian government has released a new strategy for the critical minerals sector, which includes measures to improve the environmental standards for mining, to provide support for small-scale miners, and to promote investment in critical minerals projects. The government is also working to build new partnerships with other countries to secure access to critical minerals. If Australia can overcome its challenges and become a major player in the global critical minerals market, it will create jobs, boost the economy, and help to secure Australia's future in the green technology sector.
