Default Disruptive offshore wind pyramid

T-Omega's pyramid-based floating wind turbines are designed with the sole common-sense focus of keeping the cost of offshore wind down to an absolute minimum. With wave tank testing done, the company has now launched its first real-world prototype.

The main points of the article are:

Current offshore wind turbine designs are expensive and difficult to maintain.

A new design for offshore wind turbines has been developed that is much cheaper and easier to maintain.

The new design uses a pyramid-shaped base and a double-sided axle to support the turbine.
A small prototype of the new design has been successfully tested.
