Companies that have gold hydrogen projects in Australia
The Australian gold hydrogen industry is still in its early stages of development, and none of the projects listed above are yet in commercial operation. Some of the companies are still in the exploration phase, while others are developing pilot plants.
Despite this, Gold hydrogen has the potential to be a major new energy source for Australia. The companies listed below are all committed to developing their gold hydrogen projects. Gold Hydrogen ASX GHY: Gold Hydrogen is the most advanced gold hydrogen company in Australia. The company has discovered significant concentrations of hydrogen in its Ramsay 1 well on the Yorke Peninsula of South Australia. Gold Hydrogen is currently working on a feasibility study for a commercial-scale gold hydrogen production facility. Central Petroleum Ltd: ASX CTP is drilling three sub-salt exploration wells in the Amadeus Basin of the Northern Territory, targeting hydrocarbons, helium, and naturally occurring hydrogen. The results of the wells are expected in early 2024. If the wells are successful, ASX CTP could develop a gold hydrogen production facility in the Amadeus Basin. Hydrogen Utility: H2U is developing a gold hydrogen project in the Surat Basin of Queensland. The company is planning to build a pilot plant to produce hydrogen from naturally occurring underground gas fields. H2U expects the pilot plant to be operational in early 2024. ERM Power: ERM Power is developing a gold hydrogen project in the Cooper Basin of South Australia. The company is planning to build a pilot plant to produce hydrogen from naturally occurring underground gas fields. ERM Power expects the pilot plant to be operational in late 2023. The ASX code for ERM Power is EPW. Infinite Blue Energy: Infinite Blue Energy is developing a gold hydrogen project in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. The company is planning to build a pilot plant to produce hydrogen from naturally occurring underground gas fields. Infinite Blue Energy expects the pilot plant to be operational in early 2024. (Infinite Blue Energy has changed its name to Infinite Green Energy (IGE) and is planning to list on the ASX in the near future.) Zenith Energy: ASX ZEN is developing a gold hydrogen project in the Bowen Basin of Queensland. The company is planning to build a pilot plant to produce hydrogen from naturally occurring underground gas fields. Zenith Energy expects the pilot plant to be operational in late 2023.

Bard's fact check
Fact check of statements, made above, regarding the Australian gold hydrogen industry :
Mostly True: The Australian gold hydrogen industry is still in its early stages of development. None of the listed projects are in commercial operation yet. Some companies are in the exploration phase, while others are developing pilot plants. Gold hydrogen has the potential to be a major new energy source for Australia, but its future commercial viability is still uncertain. Gold Hydrogen (ASX: GHY) is considered the most advanced in terms of exploration and development of their Ramsay 1 project. Central Petroleum Ltd (ASX: CTP) is indeed drilling wells in the Amadeus Basin targeting hydrogen, with results expected in early 2024. Their future plans depend on those results. Hydrogen Utility (H2U), ERM Power (ASX: EPW), and Infinite Blue Energy (recently changed to Infinite Green Energy, IGE) are all developing pilot plants in different regions, with varying expected operational dates.Needs clarification: The term "gold hydrogen" is potentially misleading. It's more commonly referred to as "naturally occurring hydrogen" or "white hydrogen" within the industry. Using the precise terminology would improve clarity. The claim that H2U's pilot plant is already operational in early 2024 requires verification. Their website and recent news releases suggest it's still under development. While Infinite Blue Energy has changed its name to Infinite Green Energy, it's not confirmed they plan to list on the ASX soon. Further research or their official announcements are needed to confirm this. Additional notes: Zenith Energy (ASX: ZEN) is not actively exploring for naturally occurring hydrogen. Their primary focus is on conventional gas production. It's crucial to understand the distinction between exploration, pilot plants, and commercially operational projects. Each stage represents a significant advancement, but there's still uncertainty and risk involved before reaching widespread commercialization. Overall: The information provided generally reflects the current state of the Australian gold hydrogen (naturally occurring hydrogen) industry. However, some clarifications and updates are needed regarding specific companies and terminology to ensure accuracy and avoid potential confusion.
