If the nuclear deal is signed will US be good friend in need for India?

India may require advanced nuclear programmes if china and pakistan does so. India may require other type of space defensive weapons to protect the borders.
If india in good faith signs the nuclear deal will US help in need ?
After George bush , will Obama or mccain stick to the committment? What is your opinion?
