Default Greenland Energy and Minerals head up

Greenland Minerals and Energy Ltd ('GMEL' or 'the Company') is pleased to provide an update on important developments in Greenland. Through 2014, increasing attention has been focused on regulatory aspects of uranium production and in particular safety, security and safeguards as both Greenland and Denmark work to establish a cooperation agreement on the management of responsibilities associated with uranium exploitation. This agreement is scheduled for completion in 2014.
  • Uranium Best-Practice workshop held in south Greenland, organised by the Danish Institute for International Studies to address regulatory aspects
  • National uranium information tour initiated by the Greenland government
  • Representatives of Danish Parliament visit Narsaq to learn more about the Kvanefjeld project
  • Greenland government set to provide greater constraints and clarity to the processing of exploitation license applications
GMEL's focus through 2014 is on finalising an exploitation (mining) license application for the Kvanefjeld project, along with progressing discussions with development partners. Upon lodgement, a twelve month period is anticipated for processing the application as indicated by the Greenland government.

Importantly, the recent developments in Greenland continue to confirm confidence in the project timeline.
