Default Sewage sludge to liquid fuel

This article is about turning sewage sludge into liquid fuel. It discusses using biosolids, a waste product from sewage treatment, to create renewable energy. The article reports on a successful project by Southern Oil to convert biosolids into biodiesel using hydrothermal liquefaction. This process takes about 15 minutes and mimics the natural oil formation process. The biodiesel is indistinguishable from fossil fuels and can be used in diesel cars without modification. Southern Oil plans to scale up production to 12-15 megalitres of biodiesel per year. The Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) is also working on a roadmap to grow Australia’s bioenergy industry.

A tree falls on the earth and a million years later its down low enough in the earth with enough pressure and enough temperature that the hydrocarbon gets liquified. The hydrothermal liqueficator does the same thing, just on the surface of the planet and does it in about 15 minutes
