The risk I see is still high capes of ucg gtl @ $90K / bpd, not so high efficiency of the process 45-50 pct. If these barriers are removed, ucg gtl could overshadow conv. GTL

Default Could you expand on your post Alexis?

Hi,
I am not quite sure of what you are telling us Alexis.

As I understand it the cost of conversion of 1 ton of coal to 1.5 BOE is ~$28 - 30. Using LNC's UCG-GTL technology.

Are you including the plant's Capex? Or am I missing something?

It's ok. Basically when you say 1 ton of coal produces 1.5 bbl of oil it means 20 gj of coal energy are transformed into 9-10 gj of oil energy. Therefore themal efficiency is 45 percent. What I think is that in order to reduce capex intensity they need to boost efficiency. For example, Chinese shenhua claims surface CTL plant efficiency of 60 percent. When Aker made study for LINC last year they said efficiency could only reach 49 percent at best.
