Rio buys Arcadium @ ~ 90% premium
Rio Tinto buys Arcadium for $9.9b
MELBOURNE, Oct 9 (Reuters) - Rio Tinto (RIO.AX), has acquired Arcadium Lithium (ALTM.N), for $6.7 billion, in an agreed all-cash deal that would make it one of the world's largest lithium producers.
Rio said it would pay $5.85 per share for an almost 90% premium to Arcadium's closing price of $3.08 per share on Oct. 3
The deal makes Rio one of the world's largest battery metal makers.
