"Paint the world white"

"US Energy Secretary Steven Chu said Tuesday the Obama administration wanted to paint roofs an energy-reflecting white, as he took part in a climate change symposium in London.

I was in Year 7 in 1996 and conducted a science experiment in my backyard using styrofoam boxes and lids painted the colour of the rainbow. I wanted to see if the colour of the roof would have an impact on the temperature inside. I concluded that it did, a white roof dropped the temperature inside. And so, my family painted our roof white and we dropped the temperature inside our hours by degrees and cut down on our air con usage.
