CTP's Coal Seam Gas Exploration Roaring Ahead

For those of us that have long admired CTP's program of acquisition of coal rich tenements and overall nous today's PetroleumNews.net headline "Central CSG Program Roars Ahead" is a nice fillip.

The PetroleumNews.net article details the latest ASX report released and summarises the findings from the drilling of CTP's CBM 93004 hole some 9km north from the latest hole CBM 93004.... points of interest include:

About 140m of total coal was intersected in seams 1m thick or greater. Central said its previously drilled wells in the Pedirka basin, Blamore-1 and CBM 93001, recorded 132m and 138m of coal respectively with the same 1m coal thickness cut off.

“This is significant as CBM 93004 was updip and shallower than both of the previous wells and it demonstrates lateral updip continuity of coal thicknesses without any thinning,” the company explained.

CTP are spudding CBM 93003 today.

Exciting times... CTP's coal has been seen to give good gas flows from fair to excellent... and it should be remembered that coal seams thicker than a metre are amenable to UCG which opens up a world of possibilities.
