Default Is UCG the next CSM asks FNArena's Greg Peel

A lovely article on UCG just popped up in my in-box.

Greg Peel asks the question Is UCG the next CSM.

His article explores in some depth the answers to his own question. Whilst doing so he covers several of the major companies including LNC, CNX,CXY, LBY and other players. He also gives a quick historical and an update of the current status of UCG and it's companion process GTL.

I recommend that you read it.

When UCG-GTL gets going companies that have a lot of deep underground coal such as CTP with its trillion tons plus of deep coal in the Perdika basin will be greatly sought after.

CTP's current coal

Using the UCG-GTL process one ton of coal can be converted to 1.5 barrels of oil. Oil as diesel, or other fluids that is ultra clean and burns almost particulate free.

So LNC with its several billion tons of coal and CTP with its trillion + tons will set Australia up as a major energy exporter for decades to come and Australia will be freed from an economy destroying forced importation of oil.
